Barny google with the goo goo googley eyes

Growing up my mom always told me that my Uncle called me "Barny googles with the goo goo googley eyes." from a song back in the '70's because as a baby I had such big eyes. My mom said Hudson's big eyes are the barny googles look. (Correction - my mom says that the Barny Googles song is from the '50's or '60's."

I love Hudson's big googley eyes.

How much is that doggy in the window?

Um...he's priceless!

My friend Amy makes the cutest hats. Last year she made a few for Roman. He has a teddy bear hat and a froggy hat. This year I asked her again if she could make one for Hudson. I told her to surprise me, I knew she would make something cute. We got his hat on Saturday and was it ever CUTE! Doesn't he make such a cute little puppy dog?

Santa

Saturday morning our ward had a Christmas Breakfast. After the breakfast was over Santa came for the kids. We waited in line for about 20 minutes and as it was finally our turn I looked down and Hudson had dozed off. So, rather then screaming, like so many little ones do, he slept peacefully in Santa's arms.

Bathtime with Brother

When Roman was a baby we were given this great bath seat as a baby shower gift. Roman loved it. We couldn't wait for Hudson to be big enough to use it so that he could take baths with Roman. The first time we tried him in it was a few weeks ago, and he just wasn't quite ready yet. He sat in it for a few seconds before he started to scream. The second time we tried it out, Spencer was still at work, and I decided to be brave and try to bath both boys myself. Roman wanted a bubble bath. So I filled the tub, put Hudson in his chair and this time it was totally different then the first time. This time he was so happy. He was all smiles, played in the tub for 10+ minutes and he loved playing in the tub with brother.

Sitting in the sink

One morning I was getting Roman ready for school, Spencer was already gone to work, and we were running late (story of our lives). I needed to help Roman get his belt on so I looked around for someplace to put Hudson down. Really there isn't any place in the bathroom and Brodie (our dog) was sitting out in the hall so I didn't want to just lay him on the floor in the hall. So I put him the first place I thought of...in the sink. Honestly I thought he would tolerate it at best, I didn't expect him to be happy in it. Let alone happy long enough that I was able to get a camera to capture it. He is such a happy smiley baby. We just love him.

He's already learned...

Hudson has had to learn quick that if he doesn't want brother to come by and snatch his toys, he has to hold on...and never let go! Even if he falls asleep.

For the love of bears

Hudson has started grabbing toys. He loves playing with toys that are on rings so he can hold onto them with one hand and play with them with the other. He recently discovered teddy bears. He LOVES teddy bears. He will hug them and stroke their soft fur. Of course he eats them. Just especially loves bears with long arms and legs to hold onto.

The things we'll do for sleep

To get Hudson to sleep we swaddle him, put him in the boppy, with a blanket rolled behind him and give him a pacifier. Nope, he doesn't use any sleep crutches.

One day he will be sleeping through the night and when he is older I am going to show him this picture.

He is so cute (sleeping or awake) it's hard to be upset at him for not sleeping, but I sure am tired!

Shoulder rides

When Hudson was born my visiting teaching companion (Kim) and her sister (Melanie) gave us these cute matching pajamas for the boys. The day we got them Roman insisted on wearing his. Even though it was the middle of the summer. Roman has been so excited for Hudson to wear his too. Hudson's finally fit him and Roman just loves wearing matching pajamas. Roman was running around with his pajamas on and asked if he could hold Hudson. I put Hudson on his shoulders and Roman started running around giving Hudson a ride. He told me more then once "Let go mom." Hudson was not convinced this was a good idea, even when I was holding on.

A taste of fall

Fall never lasts long enough. We got just a taste of fall as all the colors were changing all all the trees in our yard dropped their leaves. We had fun raking up all the leaves (to play in of course) and we let Hudson try them out as a bed. He decided to try them out as dinner too.
