Smiling

Hudson is starting to be awake more. He's more alert, and more curious. The best part is that he is starting to smile. He laughs in his sleep sometimes which is just adorable. This is the first smile we've been able to get a picture, I love his cute happy face.

Sleeping in his crib

Sunday was the first time I put Hudson in his crib for a nap. Spencer has put him in his crib a few times, but only for a few minutes. I don't know why but he looked so big laying there in his big crib. Makes me realize that my baby really is growing up.

Sweet Sleeping baby

When he was sleeping on my tummy like this I wondered how did he ever fit inside! No wonder he stopped moving at the end.

And no wonder he likes to sleep like this now!

Naptime

Most days I am able to handle 2 kids. There are a few times that things just get crazy and I wonder if we are going to survive. Friday afternoon was one of those times. Roman is usually really good while I am feeding Hudson. The problem is he is starting to learn that 1 - I can't do much while I am feeding him so he can cause all sorts of trouble and 2 - he isn't getting attention when I am feeding Hudson, which is usually okay, but he has his moments. This was one of THOSE moments. We got home from going to the Splash Park with our friends (you can read about that HERE) and Roman was tired but did NOT want to take a nap. He wanted undivided attention, which meant that he didn't want me to feed Hudson. Hudson on the other hand, didn't care what else was happening as long as he was fed. He slept the entire time we were at the splash park, didn't want to wake up and eat so as soon as we got in the car to go he was HUNGRY!

So I got Roman lunch, got him fed and up to bed. Started feeding Hudson and Roman got out of bed. I told him to come back downstairs and talk to me. He told me that he wanted me to put Hudson down and hold him. I explained that I couldn't put Hudson down because he was super hungry. At this point Roman got angry. He said "He's not hungry, he's full!" So I told Roman to climb up onto the couch and lay next to me. That wasn't enough so I ended up with Roman laying in my left arm and Hudson in my right. They both fell asleep and I was stuck! Luckily I had my iPod sitting next to me, so I sat and played on my iPod until Spencer came home and took a picture then moved Roman over to the other couch.

Meeting Great-Grandma P

My Grandma (My mom's mom) lives north of Logan with my Aunt. We hadn't had a chance to see her since before I found out that I was pregnant. It's kind of a drive by myself and while I was pregnant I didn't feel up to the drive, and I was a little nervous to drive that far with 2 kids by myself. So I talked to my mom and asked her if she would go with me to go see her. I really wanted her to meet Hudson, and it's been so long since we've seen her. My mom agreed to go with us so that we didn't have to drive alone and we made arrangements with my Grandma. The night before we were to go my Grandma called my mom to apologize about a change of plans. My grandma's brother has not been doing well health wise and she wanted to go down and see him. My uncle agreed to pick her up and bring her down to see her brother. So she wondered if it would work for us to visit at my uncle's house. My uncle lives about an hour closer to us so it worked out even better. We went and ate lunch with my aunt and uncle and grandma. Then after lunch a few of my cousins came to visit also so we were able to see them, it's always nice to visit with family.

Boys and Cars

One morning we were watching our morning PBS. I put Hudson on the floor on a blanket because he was wide awake and content. Roman had to go lay next to him. I looked down and they were both just watching TV.

When the show we were watching was over I turned off the TV and turned Hudson onto his tummy for a little tummy time. Roman went into his room and found his cars and brought them back to share them with Hudson.

Rocking with Roman

Hudson really likes to be held. He hates to even sleep in his bassinet. There have been many nights that I have slept in the recliner with Hudson already. Sunday morning I was getting Roman ready to go to church with Spencer and Hudson was getting a little fussy. So Roman wanted to hold him. He climbed up into the recliner and I gently rocked them while Roman held Hudson. It was so sweet. Roman kept giving Hudson hugs and kisses telling him "It's okay...you're okay." And Hudson calmed right down. He sat there with Roman for about 5 minutes completely happy.

Sunglasses

Last Saturday we were invited to a swim party for my cousin Tiffany's little boy Carter. I wasn't planning to take Hudson in the pool, but I thought it would be cute for him to wear his swim trunks and sunglasses. Well, the swim trunks were still WAY too big (they are 0-3 month) so we tried on the sunglasses and took a few pictures with them on.

In the end he slept through almost the entire party so I guess it didn't matter that we forgot the sunglasses anyway.

Storytime

Hudson has the best big brother. Roman just adores him. He loves laying on the floor talking to him. Sunday morning we got Roman all ready to go to church then he wanted to read Hudson the book I had just finished reading to him. He made sure to hold the book up so that Hudson could see the pictures and everything.

Watching these two together makes me so happy. They are going to be best friends...they are brothers...I just hope they are best friends more then worst enemies.
